ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Shoprite and Checkers presents the Championship Boerewors challenge annually as it assists the supermarket group in staying abreast with consumer needs. This national competition helps the supermarket group to find a traditional Boerewors recipe that will appeal to the majority of consumers in the country, and enables Shoprite and Checkers stores to produce a quality product that reflects the value on offer in their Meat Market departments.

• Competition Entries
  Entries for the 2010 Championship Boerewors Competition closed at 17:00
  on Friday, 18 June 2010.
  
  
• Regional Rounds
  Approximately 80 regional rounds took place on Saturdays, 14, 21 and 28 August 2010. 
  
  
• Provincial Rounds
  Winners of the regional rounds compete in ten provincial rounds
  on Saturday, 18 September 2010.
  
  
• Final Round
  On Saturday, 2 October 2010
  ten provincial finalists will battle it out for the title of Boerewors Champion 20109,
  and also for ownership of the Toyota Hilux 2.7 Double Cab Raised Body Raider
  at the final round to be held in Sun City. 
  
  
• The new 2010 Championship Boerewors in-store
  The 2010 Championship Boerewors will be available at all Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores countrywide
